Beach Fashion

Want to look great at the beach this year?  Here's some of the great looks to make you sizzle in the sun whether you're rocking retro trousers or boho dresses.

Cover Up With This Long Top & Sun Hat

Seventies Inspired Beach Babe

The stand out piece of this ensemble is the Seventies inspired top with the plunging V neckline.   The long sleeves with buttoned cuffs and the rounded hem gives an effortlessly, feminine silhouette.   The big sun hat just adds to a 70s glam look, while the shorts bring it all together in a very on-trend 2016 beach look.

Gypsy Princess Beach Wear

Tribal Inspired Summer Outfit

The main piece of this gypsy princess inspired outfit is the midi dress.   The midi dress is a light weight gauzy cotton dress perfect for the heat of summer.   A strapless dress it features crochet detailing which is very on-trend again this year along with cutouts and tribal inspired trim.

The ombre shimmer kimono over the top of this dress is perfect for taking it from the day on the beach to the evening at the Luau Bar.   Added to this is the jewelry, lots of bangles on both wrists add to both a tribal feel and a boho feel, both of which are on-trend.   The Cosmopolitan Sandals add more glitter which helps to pull the whole look together.

Beach Party Outfit

I'm not sure that any piece is really the stand out piece in this ensemble, the way it all comes together like is like an "I just pulled this on" look that actually took a while to plan!   I think the addition of the crochet shawl is what gives this look a very beachy, boho vibe.   If you lost the shawl then the outfit underneath would look much more like a clubbing outfit.

Unfortunately this particular top is out of stock and I can't find an alternative stockist at the moment, but there are a number of other white tops which would work really well like - this one in the white or even this one in white, alternatively you probably have a white top already that could work really well.

The lace up shorts round out the outfit and the jewelry brings it home.   Combine your favorite choker with a more delicate bolo necklace to get the featured jewelry look.

Boho Style

I love the Boho look and it certainly looks like being on fire again this summer, whether you wear dresses, trousers or skirts you can find your own boho style.

Let's have a look at a few different styles that embrace the gypsy, free spirit style that we call boho.

Boho Style Dress

This dress is like a cross between a long flowing boho dress coupled with the overdress style that has been popular.   Look at the necklace and shoes the model is wearing which really help to add to the boho style.   I'd be tempted to add a few bangles to one arm as well and a floppy hat.

Now I do love my jeans even though I also enjoy maxi dresses and the flowing boho dresses that are available this season.   This style shops how by choosing the right top you can even give your denim a boho feel to it.

Boho Printed Trousers with Black Crop Top

I love the range of printed trousers with the Boho feel that are available, they're lightweight and comfy while also looking great.   These trousers (above) are coupled with a black crop top, but you could pick out any of the colors in the print for a great look.   An aqua crocheted crop top that I was eyeballing the other day would look awesome with these trousers.

Of course you don't have to wear a crop top with these, longer tees are fine.   A great way of wearing these trousers is with a vest and a duster coat or kimono or even with a wind chaser style top.

Boho Style For Colder Months

Creating that Boho style that appears almost effortless to throw together is easy in summer and a lot of great looks can be created, but what happens as the cooler months roll in and late autumn turns into winter?

Well there's still lots of ways of creating a boho look, I've selected 9 pieces here which I'm going to talk about with you and show you ways in which you can use these (either the pieces themselves or as inspiration) to create lots of different looks.

Of course these pieces are just a few that I've found and you'll have your own pieces to use as well as jewelry and accessories to 'own your own look'.

I'd be very interested to hear your opinion on 'my picks' below in the comment section and to know if or how you'd incorporate any of them into your wardrobe for the upcoming season.

From Birdsnest you'll see I've selected both wide legged black pants as well as a black skirt and I think of these as cornerstone pieces for your Fall and Winter wardrobes. I couldn't resist adding the final item, a gorgeous top from Free People which I've fallen in love with. This top could be worn with either the skirt or pants and I absolutely love it although with the bare shoulders I'm aware that it may not be warm enough for some climates.

From Birdsnest I've included two different long vests which can be worn over skirt, pants, dresses etc to create that long floating line that really says Boho.   It also adds an extra layer which is very on-trend for winter fashions this year.

I've also included a hat as I think you need a good hat and I love the shape of the Jimmy Choo hat, although to be honest I'll probably be buying a different brand myself!   I think a fedora would look great, but chunky beanies are also a great look which can look great with Boho style and are also very on-trend this season.

The other two items I've added will go with a dress, pants or skirt and are about adding layers and warmth while keeping your style.   One of my favorite's is the Lola Contrast Gorilla Faux Fur Gilet from Missguided which is a very cool look for this winter as well as, I think, having some great Boho elements to it.   Next is the poncho which I would imagine is very warm if it's anything like the poncho I had last year (and it does look like it).   Ponchos are a great way of adding a touch of bohemian style to a costume so I just had to add it here.

So there you go if you want some Boho style this winter then hopefully I've given you some inspiration.
